I know exactly what your saying. I sent Detroit Teen challenge a email, thanking them about two weeks ago. After I graduated things weren't going as good as I thought. When I contacted DTC about it they told me I would have to pay another entry fee. I thought we were in this together?

After reading this I pray that you will experience God's love all over again.
I don't work for TC but I do work with troubled youth. Sometimes I feel bad that I don't keep up with the kids but I have so much do deal with, daily, with the kids I am currently dealing with. I am sure you are not forgotten. You are not forgotten by God. Pray for those in TC and those who are ministering in TC. I know I get tired and overwhelmed daily working with troubled teens and then I h ave all the other stuff to deal with when I get home. Maybe there's a ministry opportunity for you- to keep in contact with those who have transitioned out of the program.

Excellent suggestion, ministry "in-house" is a must. People already saved or recovered need that outreach too...I know because I'm both...Sometimes we feel so special by people and it feels good, but when we start feeling like a needle in a hay stack, those warm feelings instantly become cold and bitter. That's when we lean on the Rock of salvation, our Comforter & Strong Tower....Proverbs 18:10, "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe" Let the Lord be your guide into the life he has for you that's abundant. Sometimes that abundance is not extactly what we thought it would be or want, but when we accept His will in our life that's when we are truly free and live by the fruits of the spirit!!! Go get em, brother!!!

It is encouraging to hear that you graduated from teen challenge so many years ago and that you still have such gratitude for what God has done in your life. From reading the other posts there are other people who feel like you do about not being able to communicate with the TCC. You have been an Alumnus for many years. Have you thought about getting involved in Teen Challenge Ministry or perhaps starting your own Teen Challenge Ministry? I know that the TCC's are inundated with requests for help and that they are unable to provide for everyone who requests admission. Sometimes a persons involvement in TCC may just be answering letters/ emails like yours. Ask God to direct you in this, I believe you have a wealth of wisdom to share with others. When Paul had his experience on the road to Damascus he sought after God with all his heart and God opened up a ministry for him that changed the world. God did the same thing when David started Times Square church/ World Challenge/ TC etc. God opened up a ministry that has also changed the lives of thousands throughout the world. Is it your turn? Seek God, He is Able.

Brother the Program has not let you down. There is just so many hurting people on the front lines of this battle that the veterans from the past battles are not as big of a concern. Maybe the Lord is showing you a need in the program for a person to contact recovered members. Maybe that is the area of ministry the Lord is calling you into. Sounds like you are a good candidate. Ill be glad to help you seek out these people who have been through the program successfully. And encourage them to see the need and help with this area of minisrtey. I think youre onto a big thing here. You can contact me at donaldwilliamsmasonry@yahoo.com

I agree. This is something that the majority of Teen Challenge organizations need improvement on. I have had "Alumni & Aftercare" programs on my to-do list for two years now. Perhaps your post is a sign that it's time to "make time!"

Blessings!

Dear "ol ..." lol. So sorry you feel bad about no one contacting you. I was a tc counselor, supervisor and director for awhile. The only thing I can tell you is that I loved it when students came back to see me. When I left I got disconnected, as most staff people do, and was probably pretty hard to find. If I could leave personal info on this I would probably say for any of my old students to come look me up on FB. or on my website.

The only concrete thing I can tell you is that TC is made up of PEOPLE. Most of the people you were with would probably love to know how you are doing, but TC staff changes, and they become disconnected just like the students do. Hopefully these programs for alumni on Facebook, and other programs will help change things. ~Juanita

ps. Thanks for the message, and it's great "meeting" you. I hope the LORD blesses you tremendously.
